At Koa Labs, we pride ourselves on backing mission driven founders–founders who work to make the world a better place by bringing their ideas to life. Our most recent investment, Impala, embodies this ethos at all levels. Impala’s mission is to build the digital infrastructure that enables nonprofits to maximize their impact.

When we first met founders Shahar Brukner, Simon Dickson, and Tom Huberman in early 2021, they shared a bold plan to bring the availability of data accessible to the enterprise, to the nonprofit sector. The robust suite of analytic and intelligence tools built over the last decade for industry had largely overlooked nonprofits leaving foundations, institutions, and individual funders in the dark on how to maximize their philanthropic work.

At the core of it, the team at Impala are building a great tool to compile, visualize, and understand the intricate web of relationships in the nonprofit sector. Already, the team has made great strides to capture publicly available data to give foundations the ability to understand their space in a way only previously possible for the largest and most funded organizations. Impala is a tool that can level the playing field for nonprofits–ensuring that all teams have access to the tools they need.

Impala is building Impact Intelligence–a tool built to empower fundraisers and grant makers to make more impactful decisions. Impact Intelligence collects and cleans, organizes, and enriches nonprofit data to give users the ability to analyze nonprofit ecosystems at various levels of granularity. These insights give users the ability to track impact in a way not currently available outside of business contexts.

We’re thrilled to be backing the team at Impala as they deliver on their mission to maximize impact for nonprofits alongside our fellow investors Zack Rinat, Oren Ze’ev, Amnon Landan, and Adam Berman.
